Amazon Web Services Disrupts Vital Online Services

A widespread disruption at Amazon Web Services has caused major outages across several key online platforms and digital services today.

The outage has affected banking systems, government portals including HMRC online services, healthcare platforms, and popular consumer apps, leaving users unable to access essential services. Businesses that rely on Amazon Web Service for hosting, data storage and online operations are reporting delays and temporary shutdowns.

Amazon has acknowledged the problem and says, "We have identified a potential root cause for error rates for the DynamoDB APIs in the US-EAST-1 Region." and "We are working on multiple parallel paths to accelerate recovery."
