A brief history of Phinch
The company was founded by Rachel Finch in 2016, operating under the umbrella of Burton Sweet (a regional accountancy practice, of which Rachel was a partner). In 2019, Rachel parted ways with Burton Sweet to focus her efforts on growing Phinch (or Finch & Associates as it was then known), providing holistic tax planning and compliance services to US citizens living in the UK. Rachel grew the business within a short space of time into a full-service accountancy practice and appointed a senior team to start the transition into retirement in 2021. The reins were handed over to Seb Hassan-Ally & David Parmenter in July 2023, who have rebranded the company and implemented new systems in a bid to focus on client satisfaction.
Rachel remained a consultant within the business, providing invaluable business insight to Seb & David. She continued to oversee the US compliance team until officially retiring in July 2024.
Seb & David are driving the business with the same core values that Rachel instilled in the team.
